How to care for a peace lily
A shade plant: keep it out of direct sun. It likes 68 to 85°F by day; 40 to 60°F slows it down considerably, and long spells below 40°F damage it. Keep the soil moist but not soggy, letting it dry slightly between waterings; watering from below works well. Feed at a quarter of the label strength and flush the pot between feedings, since salt build-up burns leaf tips and roots. It likes being somewhat pot-bound, and it flowers freely with no set bloom time.
Common problems
Mealybugs are the most common pest; wiping the broad leaves with a damp cloth clears dust and some pests. Brown leaf tips come from direct sun, underwatering or low humidity.
