How to care for a money tree
Often sold with several trunks braided together. It likes indirect light or a mix of sun and shade; direct sun scorches the leaves. Keep it in a moist, well-drained mix, never standing in water, at 65 to 75°F with good humidity. It can summer outdoors; bring it in before temperatures drop to 45°F. Houseplants don't flower.
Common problems
Standing water rots the roots, and dry soil drops leaves. Yellow leaves point to low humidity or a lack of nutrients. Aphids, mealybugs, scale and fungus gnats; anthracnose and powdery mildew.
