How to care for a jade plant
A succulent shrub that slowly takes the form of a small tree. Give it a sunny window with a little afternoon shade, bright light and average to cool room temperatures. Plant it in well-drained mix, water moderately once the soil is dry, and cut back on water from fall to late winter. New plants root easily from a single leaf. It rarely flowers indoors.
Common problems
Overwatering causes leaf drop and root rot. Aphids, scale, spider mites and mealybugs turn up now and then.
