How to care for a Boston fern

Give it bright, indirect light, warmth (60 to 70°F), high humidity, and soil that never dries out. A kitchen or bathroom, or a pebble tray, helps with humidity. In winter it rests, so water less then. It looks best in a hanging basket.

Common problems

Overwatering during the winter rest leads to root rot. The dark dots in rows under the fronds are spores, not pests or disease.
