Companion Planting & Garden Value: Fig
Ficus carica
Spacing: needs about 16 square feet per plant. Mature height: 8-15 ft.
Pollination
Self-fertile: one plant, on its own, sets fruit. Common fig, the type sold for home gardens, is parthenocarpic: it sets fruit without pollination at all, no wasp or second tree needed. (Smyrna-type figs are the commercial exception, needing a caprifig tree and its specialist wasp: not relevant to a home planting of a common-type cultivar like Brown Turkey or Celeste.) (source)
